SUAD MAHMUTOVIĆ, MA

Born in Bihać in 1964. Upon completing Gazi Husrev-beg Madrasa, he continued his education at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences in Sarajevo, where he obtained his bachelor’s and master's degrees. At the same institution he has applied for his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Waqfs in Bužim, Cazin and Velika Kladuša from 1878 to 2017”. He also completed the Faculty of Law of the University of Bihać. He has published a number of papers in various professional journals and publications. He is employed as a senior teaching assistant at the Islamic Faculty of Education in Bihać, for the course Islamic Culture and Civilization. He also has many years of experience as an imam. He was the main imam of the Meclis of the Bihać Islamic Community and presently works as a teacher at Reis Džemaludin-ef. Čaušević Madrasa in Cazin. He was a member of the Assembly of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and of bodies of other cultural public and academic institutions. He published his years-long research on Bihać waqfs in the book Bihaćki vakufi od 1878. do 2014. godine. He has been awarded the highest recognition of the Municipal Council in Bihać, the Povelja 26. Februar award, amongst others.
