ISMET VELADŽIĆ
Born in Bužim in 1948. Completed Gazi Husrev-beg Madrasa and then the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Sarajevo, Department of Sociology. He began his career as a journalist in Preporod. He spent a great part of his career in Gazi Husrev-beg Madrasa, working as a tutor and teacher, administrator, assistant principal for teaching and boarding school, vice principal and acting principal.
In this period, he directly participated in and ran many programs, cultural-religious events and festivities that took place within the Islamic Community, starting with the marking of the 450th and 480th anniversary of the Madrasa, the 450th generation of Madrasa graduates and 120th anniversary of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community, to the 50th anniversary of the continuous publication of the journals Zemzem and Preporod. He was the Chairman of the Organization Committee of the first concert of ilahijas and qasidas, Zetra 1990, and of many other concerts in the former Yugoslavia and abroad. He has directly participated in the organization of inauguration ceremonies and awarding menshura to three Raisu-l-ulamas. For a while, he worked as an advisor for media and public relations for Raisu-l-ulama Mustafa Cerić and Raisu-l-ulama Husein Kavazović.
Ismet Veladžić also worked as an advisor in the Embassy of BiH in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was the editor-in-chief of the journal Ljiljan, director of Muslimanski glas and the director of the publishing company Ljiljan (later on, Tugra).
He was the editor or a member of the editorial board of all the three published monographs of Gazi Husrev-beg Madrasa, as well as the monograph of Zemzem and many other books, and audio and video cassettes with various program content.
