HIKMET KARČIĆ, PhD

Born in Sarajevo in 1988. He is a professional associate for genocide studies at the Institute for  Islamic Tradition of Bosniaks. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Sarajevo in 2010. He defended his master’s thesis “The role and significance of appeals before the Human Rights Chamber in the process of the search for missing persons 1996-2003”. He obtained his PhD at the International University in Sarajevo in 2018 with the dissertation “Camps as a means of ethnic-religious cleansing of non-Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina 1992-95”. He worked at the Missing Persons Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and coordinated the project “Mapping of camps and detention sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina 1992-1995” for the TPOS Association. He is the author of the books Apelacijama do istine (KAS, 2013) and Derviš M. Korkut: Biografija (El-Kalem, 2020).
