Prof. HAJRUDIN BALIĆ, PhD
Born in Tutin, Serbia in 1976. Completed undergraduate and master studies in Lebanon, and obtained a PhD degree with the dissertation entitled “Bosniaks’ customs in the light of Sunnah” at the International University in Novi Pazar in 2011.
Hajrudin Balić worked as imam in Novi Pazar and as a teacher of religious instruction. He worked as the director of Media Center of the Islamic Community in Serbia, editor-in-chief of the journal Glas Islama and director of Muslim Youth Club. He was a teacher in madrasa “Gazi Isa-beg” in Novi Pazar, and presently teaches at the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Novi Pazar in the course Hadith and Sura. He has published two books and a large number of academic papers, and participated at several academic conferences and seminars in the country and abroad. He also works as a translator.
He is active in the field of interreligious dialogue, studies in extremism and is committed to better understanding between different communities in the Balkans. He is a member of the current terms of the Assembly of the Islamic Community in Serbia and many other forums.
