DIGITAL RECONSTRUCTION OF THE MOSQUE IN LOG UNDER MANGART
In 1917, Austro-Hungarian army built a mosque in the Alpine village of Log under Mangart for its soldiers – Bosniaks who fought on the Isonzo front during the First World War. It was the first mosque in Slovenia. The same village hosts a cemetery of killed soldiers, Bosniaks and Catholics, and a memorial.
Sarajevo-based digital workshop Graphics Group and Digi.ba carried out a project of digital reconstruction of the mosque, which was destroyed after the First World War. The project was initiated by Slovenian mufti at the time, prof. Nedžad Grabus, PhD, and the expert team was led by prof. Selma Rizvić.PhD.
The virtual reconstruction was made based on several preserved photographs.
